Shop to Let

More than one in 10 town and city centre shops across the UK were vacant at the end of May, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) has said.

Its study found the average vacancy rate was 11.2%, rising to 17.1% in Northern Ireland, the worst affected nation or region.

Wales was next, with a rate of 13.4%, with the north of England on 13.1%.

I am afraid empty shop mean nothing! Sounds strange ?

Well think if you were to build supermarkets etc in an existing shopping area .

From where are the shoppers to use them going to come from?
Unless you huge a huge and instant population explosion

The shoppers have to be attracted from the small shops ..
In Turn they close and we have a empty shops

So where is the surprise ?
