Here we go again

sorry i have been so quiet over the past few weeks but we have been on our well earned break, but now im back, and mrs hotel has a bucket load of jobs for me before the season kicks off.

The down time has given me a whole load of things to rant about, this season i have made a vow to try and ask more questions of the powers that be, and try and expose the waste of our hard earned money whenever i can.

And in particular ask the questions of Visit Wales who seem to do bugger all for us in North Wales, other than continue to sit in their ivory towers in Cardiff drawing their huge salaries and sodding about on jollys and employ expensive consultants to do what they should be doing in the first place.

In my opinion they do not give us good value for money, the internet now offers a more honest and unbaised opinion of any resort/hotel/restaraunt/attraction than any other medium that you can think of, that sureley means their days are numbered and they are running around like headless chickens trying to find a reason for their existence.

My money is that they have a limeted time left, But that all depends on how many freinds in high places they have.

The only hope that they have is to get out there and get some business in rather than doing what they have done for years and sitting back on their arses and waiting for it to happen.

When are they going to come up with some ideas of their own, and stop galivanting all over the world looking for the magic formula that they can copy, after all they should be able to think of something given the budget that they have, how about employing someone who has acually made a living in the business, instead of a bunch of graduates who know bugger all about the sharp end of the business.

Rant Over

Welcome back to posting Mr H..
Always good to have a break from something and come back recharged.

What is your stance on the cancellation of the Conservative Conference, has it made a difference or is it just one of those things you have to cope with throughout the year.

Could you explain please just what the Llandudno Hospitality Association does? Can anybody join? What are their aims and objectives? Are they funded by local hoteliers or by the public purse? Why in 2012 do they still not have a website? How many members do they have? Are they a secret society?

Hmmmm on 1 hand you have to say that the canelation of the event must have been made for pureley commercial reasons, being Conservatives i would imagine that most are self employed and make good business decisions, after all if you booked a holiday to say Florida and then just before the balance was due to be paid you realised that after all it is going to cost to much money when ther may be more important things to spend your hard earned cash on.

On the other hand you may have let down a few people, if you are not bothered about going into debt and or have an endless supply of money then mybe you carry on regardless.

I dont know why it was called off but it would have given us not much business and only the likes of the Bigger hotels i would imagine would benifit from it.

I have asked myself the same question myself many times and have also asked the group itself but have not ever had a reply that makes any sense.
