I have a brilliant idea!!!

Sent to me today by a fellow Hotel owner

Let's choose a very busy Sunday and then close the busiest road in town so that nobody can get anywhere, and let's do it at beetween 0900-and 1200 when all the tourists are goung home or checking in.

And lets send all the traffic down Abbey Rd where only one car at a time can pass and then let's send them all down to the west shore and create gridlock.

Then all the tourists will tel all their freinds what a busy town we have, also it will make them stay here longer, spend more money and waste more fuel!! BRILLIANT EHHH.

Lost property

It never ceases to amaze me the things that get left in our hotel rooms, everything from false teeth to whole wardrobes full of clothes.
But by far the most popular item we get left with us is mobile phone chargers I must have about 300 at the moment I have even considered selling them in Colwyn Bay market I think I have every single one you can think of.
This week alone we had 3 one from a guy that once home telephoned us and demanded that we post it straight out to him by 24hr special delivery but as soon as I asked him to pay the postage he started getting a bit shirty with me I informed him that it would probably cost about £6-7 to send it out and how would he like to pay, of course he was not prepared to fork out such a large amount of cash to get back what was his own property, this is sadly often the case when they realise that at the end of the day someone will have to pay for their items to be returned.
If you work out that we probably get about 200 items left per year if the average postage charge is say £5.00 that’s £1000.00 per year, we now ask all our guests to send us a stamped addressed jiffy bag and we will take it to the post office at no charge or is that unreasonable????????

Mised Oportunity!

What a big missed opportunity by CCBC by not arranging for the trams to run on Monday night for the lighting of the beacons.

The car park was packed full and those without a car had no chance of getting their other than a dark walk back down an unlit road no chance for elderly or disabled etc.

And we should ask the questions why? well one answer may well be that nobody in CCBC has any business sense, all you will get from those that should be able to make a descision is the sucking of teeth and shaking head routine whilst those of us that have to constantly move our busineses forward with new ideas and inspired thinking are powerless to change anything.

Why can't we have someone who will do something positive for tourism and come up with an idea now and again? and why can't we tell theese people what we and our customers, the visitors that are the life blood of the town want.......
